Ever since January 25, WWE has had many backstage segments between Goldust and R-Truth in which they discuss the possibility of becoming tag team partners, accompanied by one of the two finding a reason as to why they shouldn't. The first of these segments occurred almost four months ago and at first, it was met with a lot of support from the WWE fans.
Fans found the R-Truth and Goldust possible partnership reminiscent of the WWE's past when Goldust and Hall of Famer, Booker T were partners and provided some of the most entertaining moments in WWE. It almost looked as if WWE were going to make the 'Golden Truth' team a reality and there were discussions of the duo going against The New Day for the WWE Tag Team Championships.
While fans eagerly awaited for WWE to pull the trigger on 'Golden Truth' as a Tag Team, we never got to see this happen. Almost four months later - and we're still in the exact same position.

Many fans have now stopped thinking about the possibility of a Golden Truth reign with the Tag Team Championships, and instead, have turned to being bored with the repetitive promos that have been seen constantly for over three months. With tag teams such as Enzo and Cass and also The Vaudevillians coming up to the main roster, and Primo and Epico being repackaged, it's possible that Golden Truth has lost their spot.
It seemed as if WWE was actually going ahead with the team on the recent episode of SmackDown. It was announced that the Golden Truth would face The Vaudevillians in a Tag Team tournament match. However, this was eventually switched last minute, in which Fandango would team up with Goldust. From the false announcement, many have questioned whether WWE knows or ever did know what its own plans with the Golden Truth are.
The segments have included historical references, sexual innuendos and some have even been quite funny. We've seen everything except the eventual conclusion of them becoming a tag team. WWE needs to act fast with the Golden Truth if they want to make them a team because the tag team division is quickly filling up with three new/repackaged teams following WrestleMania.
R-Truth and Goldust together would be great as they could provide some comedy moments on the show. Neither man is really doing much as it is, so this could be a way to get them some air time. WWE needs to decide what they want to do with the Golden Truth, and if they want to make them a team, then it's time for them to act.
