Arsenal are now in a full-on battle to finish in the Premier League’s top four.
The Gunners could only manage a draw at Sunderland which leaves them five points ahead of fifth-placed Manchester United, who have a game in hand over Arsene Wenger’s side.
What has happened to Arsenal in the past two months has been an all-too-common occurrence for fans. They put themselves in a position to win the title but fluff their lines when the going gets tough.

Arsenal were somewhat fortunate to leave the Stadium of Light with a point - Sunderland had a penalty appeal turned down in the first half and Petr Cech was kept busy after the interval.
Critics have continued to air their frustration towards Wenger, with more and more calling for the Frenchman’s departure, but it was Olivier Giroud who received most of the flak on Twitter.
The Arsenal striker has now gone 14 Premier League games without finding the target. If Gooners haven’t yet realised that Giroud isn’t the man to fire them to the title, they have done now.

Manchester United’s run of four wins in their past five league games has left Arsenal with work to do to secure a spot in next season’s Champions League.
Wenger’s side have home games against Norwich and Aston Villa that fans will be expecting them to win, but sandwiched in-between is a difficult visit to the Etihad Stadium to take on Manchester City.
Meanwhile, Louis van Gaal’s team play Leicester (H), Norwich (A), West Ham (A) and Bournemouth (H) in their remaining fixtures.
