Leicester City fan closing in on big money

Following Tottenham's failure to secure all three points against West Brom on Monday night, Leicester City are closer than ever to claiming the Premier League title.

Under Claudio Ranieri's regime, the Foxes have enjoyed a remarkable rise and are now just three points away from landing English football's most prestigious prize.

Incredibly, with seven games remaining last season, Leicester were rock bottom of the table, but they are now all but set to win the title.

Ranieri's side could complete the job on Sunday as they travel to Old Trafford to take on FA Cup finalists Manchester United.

Victory at Old Trafford won't be easy, of course, but Leicester have defied their critics time and time again throughout the course of the campaign, so there's no reason why they won't be able to produce the goods once again this weekend.

Outrageous bet

And that will make their supporters very happy indeed. In fact, it will make one fan even more ecstatic than the rest.

Leigh Herbert has caught the headlines over the last few months after revealing the bet he placed on the Foxes at the start of the season.

And after Spurs' struggle on Monday night, Herbert revealed just how much William Hill are offering him to cash out at this stage.

Well, right now, Herbert can claim a huge windfall of £13,125.98, but that, it appears, isn't tempting him. The Leicester fan has long insisted that he wouldn't cash out on the club and it appears that he is very much sticking to his word.

If Leicester seal the deal over the coming months then the punter, who placed a £3 bet on the club to win the league, will secure a mammoth £15,003.00. That's not bad going.

Here's his latest tweet:

Let's be honest, there really should be no stopping Leicester in the pursuit of success and it may well prove the greatest feat English football has ever seen.

It has been a fairytale campaign for the club, who thoroughly deserve to be sitting at the summit of the table. The likes of Riyad Mahrez, Jamie Vardy, N'Golo Kante and co. have truly surpassed all expectations throughout the course of the season.

There's every chance that they will win the league at the Theatre of Dreams and then be handed a guard of honour at Stamford Bridge on the final day of this remarkable campaign.
