Ric Flair in weird incident with police at Boston airport

Football News

In 2016, it seems we've had something of a trend of former wrestlers sadly being in the news and making headlines because they have passed away.

Ric Flair has hit the headlines today, but thankfully, he isn't dead or in hospital. However, he has had a weird day with a potentially big story developing.

Reports have surfaced stating that Flair was detained by police at an airport in Boston after being drunk in public.

According to someone on Twitter, via NoDQ, Flair was "drunk and disorderly" and was not allowed to board his plane flight.

According to that same report from NoDQ, someone has said they witnessed Flair being very drunk in the airport.

"A guy I know works at Logan Airport in Boston. I guess they are refusing to let Flair onto his flight because he is so hammered."

However, despite NoDQ's report that Flair was drunk and detained by police, TMZ have come out and said that they talked to a police officer who has said that Flair wasn't drunk at all and that the only reason police were there was because he suffered a pretty bad cut on his hand.

"But we spoke with Airport Police Sgt. Donlon who tells us Flair was NOT intoxicated," TMZ stated.

Sgt. Donlon says airport officials got a call for a "man with a cut on his hand" -- and police and medical personnel responded. Flair was treated -- deemed not drunk -- and was allowed to get on his flight. We spoke with Flair's rep who told us Ric is fine -- and made his flight.

Someone is wrong here and either Flair was drunk and it is being covered up, or the reports of him being drunk are complete fabrications. We'll have to wait and find out which is true.
