Liverpool have secured their place in the Europa League final following a convincing 3-0 victory over Villarreal in the semi-final second leg.

The Reds' European dream rampages on after Jurgen Klopp's men put on yet another memorable display in front of the Anfield faithful.

An own goal from Villarreal's Bruno in the opening ten minutes saw Liverpool draw level on aggregate yet they were unable to claim the all-important goal before the break.

However, impetus was well and truly with the Reds and they soon capitalised on such dominance.

Daniel Sturridge was the man to stand up and be counted, latching onto Robert Firmino's scuffed shot in the 63rd minute to calmly slot past Villarreal's goalkeeper.

Cue hysteria. The Englishman wheeled away in celebration knowing he might have just scored the winning goal.

It was a huge moment for Sturridge on a personal level having been left on the bench by Klopp in the first leg; if there was ever a way to prove his manager wrong, that was it.

Adam Lallana then put the result beyond any doubt 18 minutes later, slotting home from a loose ball.

And when the final whistle blew it was sheer jubilation, with Klopp and his victors parading Anfield and celebrating with their devoted fans on what was an emotional night.

The Europa League final now awaits Liverpool, in which they'll face Sevilla.

The Reds can expect a tough challenge, though, with the La Liga outfit gunning for their third-straight European title.
