On SmackDown last week, we were provided with full commentary from The New Day during a match between Enzo & Cass vs The Social Outcasts.
Whilst guest commentators are not a new thing in WWE and have often occurred in the past, particularly during ongoing feuds between superstars, it might be a new and interesting way to develop the WWE product even further.
This is especially the case in instances where a superstar is too injured to compete but perhaps will provide more of a draw to the event by being present at the show. It would also provide us with an interesting furthered insight into the minds of superstars and how they perceive other superstars.

If nothing else, it would bring a new entertaining element to the product and would allow WWE to make use of injured superstars who still wish to be a part of the show.
Listening to The New Day was so much fun during this match, they didn’t take things too seriously and it was refreshing to listen to. Whilst there is nothing wrong with the SmackDown commentary team, especially with the addition of Mauro Ranallo, which has gone down particularly well with fans.
There are other fun elements they could add to this.
For instance, giving the fans the chance to vote for who they would like to provide guest commentary for a particular match or show. This would give the fans more choice over the product and may even boost ratings slightly.
Several superstars in the past have been brilliant alongside the regular commentators. The likes of Dean Ambrose, The Miz, Dolph Ziggler and even before that, CM Punk, always managed to brighten up the product with their addition to commentary.
