WWE released eight well known superstars on Friday after weeks of speculation that there were set to be more budget cuts and releases in order for WWE to move forward with their planned 'new era.'

It seems that WWE is not stopping with those eight superstars either as various online sources are now reporting that WWE could be set to release even more talent in the coming weeks to make room for all of the new talent currently coming through their ranks.

One name that has been floating around various rumor sites is Randy Orton, the former World Champion hasn't been seen on WWE TV for almost a year and it seems the company is ready to move forward without The Viper.

Randy Orton suffered a legitimate shoulder injury back in September 2015 and it was revealed that it was embarrassingly caused when he was putting out the trash at home.

Orton was taken out of the Hell in a Cell match that he was scheduled for later in the month and underwent surgery to fix the problem. WWE then hoped that the Apex Predator would return a lot sooner than he has and perhaps that has played a role in this decision.

Orton was a part of WWE's WrestleMania week and even arrived in Texas to meet fans and sign autographs, but he still didn't appear at WrestleMania itself which was a slight disappointment.

The Viper, The Legend Killer or The Apex Predator, however the WWE chooses to remember Randy Orton is will be as a lasting presence in WWE after many years of being one of the biggest stars in the company.

Orton has been at the top of his game since he became the youngest ever World Champion over a decade ago and he has since become a 12 time World Champion and the last man to ever hold the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

There is no doubt in anyone's mind that Randy Orton will always have a lasting legacy in WWE, if it is true that he is one of the next superstars to be given the dreaded phone call. But if this speculation is to be believed then WWE could be set to make a huge statement about their future intentions.
