Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino is a dangerous woman with heavy hand power that has brought her much success throughout her MMA career.  However, she has never stepped into the octagon fighting with the UFC. That is until now as she has officially signed a deal to fight at UFC 198 in her home nation of Brazil against Leslie Smith.

In 2005, Cyborg made her MMA debut where she was defeated via submission due to a kneebar in the first round. Since this disappointing start to her career, she has simply been unstoppable with a record of 15-1-1 with 13 of her victories coming from stoppages.

She has fought in top organisations such as Strikeforce, where she won the Strikeforce women’s Bantamweight championship, which she successfully defended twice. After a third successive TKO title defence against Hiroko Yamanaka in 2011, Cyborg tested positive for an anabolic steroid called stanozolol, resulting in the fight being deemed a no contest and her being stripped of her Bantamweight title as well as being handed a one-year suspension from the sport.

In 2013, Cyborg made her return to the octagon fighting for the top female only MMA organisation, Invicta Fighting Championship, with a first round TKO victory of Fiona Muxlow. After this impressive triumph, she then defeated Invicta FC Featherweight champion Marloes Coenen to win her second career championship. Since she has defended the belt three times, all one sided fights being stopped in the first rounds.

Cyborg has been on the UFCs radar for a long time with the hopes of setting up a super fight with former UFC women’s Bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey, however, the two parties could never
agree on a deal for many reasons which left MMA fans thinking they were never going to see this dream fight.

However, now Justino is signed up and ready to fight the best the UFC has to offer, the dream fight could very well become a reality.  There has been much trash talking between the two ladies over the past year, most recently coming from cyborg in an interview with Power 106 FM with this tweet.

There are also many other huge potential big fights for Cyborg in the division such as Holly Holm, Cat Zingano and current Champ Misha Tate. The addition of Justino is only going to make the
division stronger and ensure the continuants of a fantastic year for women’s Mixed Martial Arts.
