Liverpool could make a summer move for £8 million-rated Mainz goalkeeper Loris Karius.

This has been reported by the Daily Mail, who claim that Reds chief Jurgen Klopp is looking to increase competition for Simon Mignolet and Danny Ward at Anfield.

The report goes on to claim that the arrival of Karius could signal the departure of former Bolton 'keeper Adam Bogdan.

The 28-year-old has endured a tricky time on Merseyside and failed to impress when he made his solitary Premier League appearance for the club.

Bogdan conceded three goals against Watford on December 20 and hasn't played another league game for the club since.

Ultimately, then, he could leave the club behind in the summer, but it appears that the club will quickly move for Karius.

The Mainz shot-stopper, 22, enjoyed a stint at Manchester City as a teenager and is recognised as one of the most exciting young 'keepers in Germany's elite division.

There have been doubts over current No.1 Simon Mignolet, but it appears that the Belgium international will remain in the ranks ahead of next season.

Now, though, the club's immediate focus will be ending their domestic season on a high as they take on West Brom at the Hawthorns.

After today's Premier League clash, Klopp and co. will be gearing up to take on Sevilla in the Europa League final.
