Kevin Owens is currently scheduled to take part in a Fatal 4-way match against The Miz, Cesaro, and Sami Zayn at Extreme Rules for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

If The Prizefighter leaves the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Sunday night victorious, it will be the third time he has won the title since making his debut on the WWE main roster over a year ago.

He recently tweeted out to celebrate his one year anniversary, saying how successful his first year has been, and how he hopes year two can be even better. Well, recent rumors have suggested more of the good times could be just around the corner.

Owens is arguably one of the best heels in the company today, his brilliant promo and mic skills alongside his wrestling ability puts him up there as one of the best performers on the roster today. His efforts are starting to get noticed by those at the top of the WWE as well.

According to Daily Wrestling News, Vince McMahon has turned into a big supporter of the Canadian superstar, despite the fact he once had issues with his size in the past. The work he has put into his craft has impressed a lot of people lately, and he might be about to reap the rewards.

They said in their article: "Vince is said to be past his gripes with Owens’ look and very high up on his recent mic and commentary work.

"Owens is currently penciled in for a main event push after the current feud with Sami Zayn ends. No word on if that means for the WWE World Heavyweight Title but there are people who feel he deserves that big of a push."

Owens' feud with long-time rival Zayn looks set to continue beyond Extreme Rules no matter the outcome of the Fatal 4-way because - as expected - it is being received really well by the WWE Universe.

Alongside the fact several previously injured main event superstars will be returning to the WWE soon - like John Cena, Seth Rollins, and Randy Orton - spaces at the top are limited, so he may have to wait until he gets the WWE World Heavyweight Championship shot he craves.

Cena is currently rumored to face Roman Reigns at SummerSlam for the WWE title later this year, so he might have to wait until after then to get his chance. Until then, he could still have main event matches against Rollins, Orton, or possibly one of his dream opponents, Brock Lesnar. It certainly is exciting times if you are a Kevin Owens fan.
