Football News

It has been a week to forget for Jamie Carragher: he had to watch his beloved Liverpool lose in the Europa League final at the hands of Sevilla on Wednesday night, while he witnessed Manchester United triumph in the FA Cup on Saturday.

But that didn't stop the Liverpool legend taking to social media to express his feelings following the Red Devils' FA Cup victory.

Indeed, Carragher, who also tweeted about referee Mark Clattenburg during the Wembley fixture, opted to troll Merseyside outfit Everton.

The Sky Sports pundit, as you can see below, tweeted: 'Two cup final wins in four days for Everton.'

Why, then, did Carragher find it necessary to troll the Goodison Park outfit? It's all speculation at this stage, of course, but we're fairly confident that he had endured a fair bit of abuse from fans of the Toffees following Liverpool's latest defeat.

Carragher troll

Social media reaction

As you can imagine, social media reacted in style to Carragher's tweet. Here's how things played out...
