Jordi Alba opens the scoring against Sevilla in extra-time

Barcelona are closing in on a domestic double after Jordi Alba struck his first goal of the season in the Copa del Rey final. 

As you can see in the video below, it was Argentine international Lionel Messi who picked out the talented Spanish full-back with a beautiful pass. 

Alba certainly didn't disappoint and duly found the bottom corner of the Sevilla goal.

It had, of course, been a frustrating evening for Luis Enrique's side, who had seen defender Javier Mascherano sent off in the first-half. 

In fact, things got even worse for the Catalans after enigmatic striker Luis Suarez, who has been in incredible form this season, was taken off with a hamstring injury.

Barca goal 

Barca, though, managed to hang on and the pattern of the game changed when Ever Banega was dismissed for the Europa League winners. 

Both teams headed into extra time with 10 men and it's safe to say that Barca quickly took control of the game. 

It was always going to take a moment of genius to break the deadlock and Messi's assist was rather special.

Barcelona currently lead with just 10 minutes of extra time remaining in the cup final.
