Jose Mourinho wants Willian at Manchester United

Jose Mourinho wants Manchester United to secure the signature of Chelsea winger Willian.

This has been documented in The Sun, who claim that the Red Devils could spend as much as £60 million on the Brazil international.

It appears, then, that Mourinho wants United to break their club-record for a player. United previously paid Real Madrid £59.7 million for Argentina international Angel di Maria.

It's far from certain as to whether Chelsea would be willing to sell their Player of the Year from this past season, but the same report from The Sun claims that Willian would be interested in joining up with the Portuguese tactician once again.

Mourinho hasn't even been named as Louis van Gaal's successor at Old Trafford yet, but it would now come as a major surprise if the self-proclaimed 'Special One' wasn't in charge of the club ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.

Jose wants Willian

The potential addition of Willian would most definitely prove a major coup for United, but it's surely unlikely that the Chelsea hierarchy would consider selling him to a major rival at this stage.

Willian, who is currently gearing up for the Copa America with Brazil, has admitted that he has a 'great relationship' with Mourinho and has predicted that United will be stronger with him at the helm.

The wide-man stated: “Jose is one of the most successful coaches in the world and Manchester United will be stronger with him as manager.

“I played some of my best football under Mourinho. He is a special coach and I have a great relationship with him.

“Winning the Premier League with him was one of the highlights of my career. I was sad things didn’t work out after that.”

When asked whether he could be set for a reunion with Mourinho, Willian insisted that he's only thinking about the Copa America.

He continued: “I don’t think about that. I’m here on Copa America duty with Brazil and I’m not here to do interviews about other things.”
