WWE's plan could see one Superstar working both brands after split

Football News

As the WWE Universe continues to digest the news that the organisation will once again be introducing a brand split across SmackDown and RAW, new details about exactly what the WWE is planning continue to emerge.

In Wednesday's official announcements we learned that a draft involving the main roster Superstars will take place at some point in the future in order to create two separate rosters for RAW and SmackDown.

Double shift

Now, though, one report is suggesting that there could be at least one star who will be involved in both brands even after the split occurs.

As reported by Dave Meltzer on F4WOnline.com, via NoDQ, the WWE is planning to move forward with just the one Women's Championship.

As a result, it is believed that Charlotte will appear on both brands in order to continue to defend the title she currently holds, against opponents from across the Women's Division.

With a brand split coming into play, it does perhaps open up the opportunity to create a second Women's title - as was the case with the men's belts in the original brand split that ended in 2011.

However, although the women's roster is currently being heralded as the strongest it has ever been, the sensible move is to continue forward with just the one recently re-branded belt.

As we've seen in recent times with injuries to the likes of Sasha Banks and Emma, while the women on the roster may be extremely talented, there isn't yet enough of them performing at a high enough level to justify two world titles.

Keeping all of their options open when it comes to the likes of Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, Natalya and Charlotte - regardless of which roster they end up on - is the best way to ensure the momentum in the women's division isn't lost by watered down feuds.

As for what it means for Charlotte, it looks like The Nature Girl is set for a very busy schedule moving forward.

With SmackDown moving from its usual Thursday slot to a live Tuesday broadcast, it could mean the daughter of Ric Flair is working an almost non-stop schedule as her main roster peers rest up while the brand they aren't involved in takes centre stage.

Of course, at this stage, such reports are only speculation. We will have to wait until the split actually comes into force to see just how things play out.
