Brazilian Ronaldo criticises Diego Simeone's management style

Diego Simeone has won plenty of admirers over the course of his five years in charge of Atletico Madrid.

However, the Argentine boss is never going to please everyone and it looks like that even includes his own former team-mates.

Out of nowhere, Brazil and Real Madrid legend Ronaldo, who played alongside Simeone for two years at Inter Milan, has made a cheeky dig at the 46-year-old over his management style.

Ronaldo digs at Simeone

Admittedly, Atletico do not play the most free-flowing football and have been criticised in some quarters for too often opting for the long ball.

Of course, Ronaldo may be playing a few mind games ahead of Saturday's Champions League final between the two Madrid sides, but he made his feelings pretty clear nonetheless.

"I am in love with football that is played well", he said, as per the Daily Mail.

"Simeone has an Argentinian temper and transmits that to his players. Things that I do not like, but he is a great coach."

Simeone's underdogs

The Atleti coach is known for his fiery antics on the touchline and that could inspire the likes of Antoine Griezmann and Fernando Torres to claim a piece of history tonight.

Atletico are aiming to lift the Champions League trophy for the first time. To do that, however, they must overcome Zinedine Zidane's 10-time winners.

They will be buoyed by the fact that Real have never won a game at the final's venue, the San Siro, while they will also be hoping that Simeone's tactics can frustrate Los Blancos' superstars.

Whatever Ronaldo thinks, Real must be concerned that Simeone's style has the potential to cause a big upset.
