The Nigerian, who retired in 2008, was a magnificent talent capable of doing things on the pitch that few other players on the planet would dare to even attempt.

Okocha relished the big matches and scored some truly special goals during his time playing under Sam Allardyce.

Eight years on from his retirement and it turns out that Okocha, who turns 43 in August, hasn’t lost his silky skills.

The winger played a starring role in Joseph Yobo’s testimonial and, judging by the footage, could still do a job today.

One man who clearly thinks so is Samuel Eto’o.

The 35-year-old, who currently plies his trade for Antalyaspor in Turkey, was playing for Team World against Okocha’s Team Nigeria when he suddenly indicated that enough was enough.

Eto’o playfully grabbed his opponent by the arm and pointed to him while signalling to the Team Nigeria bench to make the substitution for the benefit of Team World.

Okocha, who has run Team World ragged, saw the funny side and shook his finger to made it clear that he wanted to stay on the pitch and continue terrorising Eto’o and his teammates.

Team Nigeria went on to win the match 5-4, with Okocha registering two assists.

Emmanuel Emenike, who spent time on loan with West Ham this season, scored a 15-minute first-half hat-trick while Yobo himself also got on the scoresheet.
