Twenty-four hours after Sky Sports reported that Jose Mourinho plans to sell Juan Mata and Daley Blind this summer, it’s emerged that Barcelona are set to make a bid for one of the unwanted Manchester United stars.
Mourinho is reportedly willing to allow the Netherlands international to leave Old Trafford this summer, if an acceptable offer is received, and it seems his next destination could be the Camp Nou.

Sport feature Blind on their front cover and explain that Blind has been identified by Barca boss Luis Enrique as cover for the team’s defence.
The Catalan giants are in danger of losing both Javier Mascherano and Dani Alves this summer - the two South Americans are understood to have deals with Juventus in place - and Enrique knows it’s imperative to secure the services of replacements as soon as possible.
Blind could suit Barcelona
Although Blind performed reasonably well for United last season, it’s understood that he does not fit the “physical profile” Mourinho looks for in central defenders.
While the Dutchman clearly has a good understanding of the game and can play in multiple positions, he lacks the strength and pace that Mourinho would expect from a first-class centre-back.
Due to his versatility and assurance in possession, a move to Barcelona could potentially be a good fit for Blind.
Blind keen to work under Mourinho at United
However, the 26-year-old insists he wants to stay at Old Trafford and work under the club’s new manager - even though he was disappointed by Louis van Gaal’s sacking.
Blind told Dutch media outlet NOS, per Sky Sports: "I am looking forward to working with Mourinho. We will have to wait and see whether anything changes for me.
"I will just give my all and work hard. Mourinho is a manager who has achieved a lot and I am keen to work with him."
He added: "I might not be as big as Pepe but I think I have shown in the Premier League that I can hold my own defensively.
"We conceded the fewest goals in the Premier League and I think we got the most clean sheets. That's something to be proud of. I played nearly every game and that is a good feeling.
"You might be looking for a certain statement, but I will just give my all under Mourinho."
