Barcelona have made sure that their star forward Neymar isn't playing in the upcoming Copa America tournament this summer, but they didn't say anything about baseball.

The wily Brazilian went to his first ever major league sporting event in the United States on Tuesdayy as he headed to Citi Field to watch the New York Mets take on the Chicago White Sox in a Major League Baseball regular season game.

While there, the talismanic 24-year-old tried his hand at America's past-time in the Mets' batting cages. After the session, it is clear to see that Barca are in no danger of Neymar switching sports anytime soon. Scroll down to watch him in action.

Neymar had some one-on-one work with the Mets actual hitting coach, Kevin Long. Even despite the professional help, the Brazilian wasn't exactly a natural with a bat in his hands.

"Very difficult for me," Neymar apparently said through a translator, according to  Andrew Beaton of the Wall Street Journal. The writer also went on to add that Neymar doesn't know much about baseball and was just beginning to learn about it.

So, considering this was probably the first time that the striker has ever picked up a baseball bat and stepped inside a batting cage in his life, the fact that he managed to get ball on wood at all was a success in itself.

The replies to this video from Mets fans were polarizing to say the very least, with some saying that he plays ball like a girl while others were asking if he could take over at 3rd base or as a catcher. Suffice to say, the Mets aren't too happy with some of their current players.

Thankfully, Neymar is still really, really, ridiculously good at football. In fact, he even has skills doing keepy-ups with a baseball. Those balls are hard as hell, though, so maybe this wasn't quite the best idea ever.

There is another thing you just cannot deny, he actually makes the oversized baseball jersey and backwards cap look good. Those are the only two compliments we can muster from Neymar playing baseball. We tried, but Neymar really does swing like a girl. Sorry.
