At last year's SummerSlam, there was a feud between Stephen Amell and Stardust which was booked in a superhero vs supervillain manner. The match looked as though it would be a one on one match between the two, but it was adjusted into a tag match with Neville joining Amell and Wade Barrett joining Stardust.

It turned out to be an okay feud but what really stood out was Amell's wrestling style as he didn't look like he was a novice in the ring at all. This certainly caught the attention of other superstars. Sheamus is one of those stars that is interested in working with the actor if he decides to go back to WWE again.

Speaking at a media event for TMNT 2 - which also stars Amell - The Celtic Warrior told reporters he may be interested in stepping into the ring with the actor.

He said according to Wrestling Inc: "He did a stellar performance at SummerSlam. I'd love the opportunity to take him on in the ring! The first time I sat down and met Stephen on set, he surprised me being a huge WWE fan, and so knowledgeable about it for all his life.

"I talked a bit about what I do, I was like, 'Oh you know, come off the top rope, this and that,' then he shows me this video of him doing Parkour, jumping off walls, doing flips, coming down, another flip, jump out to another wall... I was like, oh, I'll stop talking about myself now. I was pretty impressed."

So could we see Sheamus vs Amell soon? Possibly. It certainly would be a good way for the WWE to promote the movie, but with the direction the company is currently going in, there appears to be not a lot of room for these kinds of match-ups at the moment.

The WWE is currently issuing in a New Era, which has a lot of benefactors for not only the business but for WWE fans as well. For starters, SmackDown is being moved from Thursday nights to Tuesday nights and will be broadcasted out live. Also, Raw and SmackDown will both have unique rosters thanks to the upcoming WWE Draft.

NXT call-ups to the main roster are expected to be on the horizon as well, which means there is going to be a very talented roster in the WWE in the next couple of weeks all dying for a spot on a pay-per-view card every single month. With fans being so invested already in this brand extension storyline, celebrity in-ring appearances are on the backburner for the time being.

Sheamus vs Amell could happen in the future, but by then it may have fallen out of relevancy. With so much talent on the roster these days, WWE can book a pay-per-view without the need of a celebrity appearance in order to put on a good show.
