Jose Mourinho has wasted no time writing a list of potential signings he wants in order to take Manchester United back to the top of the Premier League.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic seems to be on his way into Old Trafford, and now the new manager has declared an interest in Eric Bailly.
According to reports in Spanish paper AS, a bid of around £18 million, with £12m additional add-ons, has been made for the Villarreal defender. The quick, versatile, strong, and comfortable on the ball centre back seems an ideal option for the Portuguese manager and the ideal partnership with Chris Smalling.

After impressive performances in La Liga, the 22-year-old has seen his credentials rise, with Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Manchester City all scouting the defender in recent times, following an impressive full season with the Yellow Submarine.
That season culminated in Champions League qualification and the semi-finals of Europa League. A strong defence played an integral part, with Bailly a persistent performance at the heart of the back four.

He has certainly lived up to his expectations after being signed to replace Gabriel Paulista for just €5.7m from Espanyol. The same questions were asked when he joined his La Liga counterparts and they were duly answered, with many fans preferring their latest signing to their former Brazilian defender.
A different physique and greater pace makes the centre back far more suited to the rigors of the Premier League than the Arsenal acquisition. All options point towards a good move for both parties.
The African star would likely replace Daley Blind, who the new manager has said doesn’t fit the physical profile he wants in a centre-back, and he will also be seen as a better option than Phil Jones and Marcus Rojo, who United fans would love to see move on.
If Ibrahimovic and Bailly, amongst others, do manage to run out on a regular basis at Old Trafford, it wouldn’t be too long before Mourinho brings the glory days back to red half of Manchester.
