These Paul Pogba rumours are really starting to gather pace.

On Wednesday, it was being reported that Manchester United were winning the race to sign their former player with The Mirror stating that Jose Mourinho was willing to part with a hefty £78 million for the Frenchman.

Of course, if a player of Pogba’s calibre is available, there is going to be no shortage of potential suitors.

Juventus have used the interest surrounding their star by slapping an incredible €270 million price tag, according to Spanish newspaper Sport.

However, it seems that Real Madrid didn’t get the memo. That’s because they’ve edged ahead of United by putting in a bid of €120 million.

That news features on the front page of today’s La Gazzetta dello Sport with the headline “Zizou wants him!”

Madrid's offer

Of course, it’s likely that the Old Lady won’t be too impressed with an offer less than half of their valuation. However, Madrid have more than just the €120 to offer.

The report claims that Los Blancos could include Alvaro Morata in the deal in some form. Madrid have the option to re-sign the Spanish striker for £23 million and they plan on selling him on for big profit - around £40 million - with Arsenal and Chelsea interested.

However, with Morata, the Bernabeu hold a bargaining chip that could give them an opportunity to pull off the incredible signing of Pogba.

But Madrid could also include another one of their players in the stunning deal. The report claims that Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic could also be a makeweight in the transfer.

In regards to wages, it’s believed that the Spanish club is willing to offer Pogba an eye-watering €10 million-per-year.

United's move

Not only can Madrid offer two players in the deal, they only boast the title of European champions. Meanwhile, United finished fifth in the Premier League last season and will have to make do with Europa League football next campaign.

The report will come as a massive blow to Mourinho and Manchester United. The 23-year-old spent three years at Old Trafford but was allowed to leave the club four years ago for just £800,000 after a falling out with legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

But, after he’s gone on to become one of the best midfielders in world football, the Red Devils are desperate to bring him back.

During his four seasons in Italy, Pogba has lifted four Serie A title and two Coppa Italias in Turin.

Madrid have produced an incredible offer, over to you United.
