England suffered a stoppage-time sucker punch in their Euro 2016 opener against Russia, allowing the softest of equalisers to Eric Dier's unstoppable free-kick in a 1-1 draw in Marseille.

Roy Hodgson's men dominated for long periods and thought they had clinched the points when Dier sent a punishing drive into the top corner in the 73rd minute.

But with seconds left on the clock Vasili Berezutsky rose to send a looping header across goal, with Denis Glushakov on hand to make sure on the line.
