Free agency is right around the corner and, believe it or not, Kevin Durant is not the only player available this summer.

Dwight Howard, an eight-time All-Star, is also set to opt-out of his Houston Rockets deal and become an unrestricted free agent.

His current teammate, veteran Jason Terry, believes there is one team in the west who could benefit the most should they go all-out to nab the 30-year-old and it could make them overnight contenders.

“He would look good [in a Mavericks uniform]. Anybody that has his physical stature alongside of Dirk (Nowitzki) is always a huge factor. If he comes to Dallas they’ll be talking about Dallas in the likes of winning a championship,” Terry said, via Dwain Price of the Star-Telegram.

Of course, the Mavericks famously thought they had signed DeAndre Jordan last summer only for the deal to collapse at the eleventh hour.

The Clippers pivot went to earn All-NBA First Team honours this year as well as a spot on the NBA All-Defensive First Team.

However, Jet believes that Howard could have a similar impact on the Mavericks.

“There are three dominant centers that I’ll say, and that’s DeMarcus Cousins (of the Sacramento Kings), DeAndre Jordan (of the Los Angeles Clippers) and Dwight Howard,’’ Terry said. “Not to mention Memphis’ Marc Gasol, but he’s a different kind of center because of his back to the basket game and the way he can pass. But those other three, they’re athletic, they run the floor, and Dwight fits that perfectly.’’
