Daniel Sturridge scores stoppage-time winner as England beat Wales 2-1

Daniel Sturbridge was the hero as England secured a miraculous 2-1 win over Wales.

The Liverpool man netted in stoppage time to record a deserved victory for Roy Hodgson’s side, who went behind in the first half thanks to Gareth Bale’s free-kick.

Jamie Vardy equalised within minutes coming on and it was left to Sturridge to seal the three points.

England are now top of Group B as they look to secure their place in the knockout stage.

But it looked gloomy in the first half when Bale beat Joe Hart from 35 yards.

Hodgson reacted by bringing on Vardy, Sturridge and Marcus Rashford and his substitutes won the game for England.
