Euro 2016 really hasn’t been kind to Cristiano Ronaldo, has it?
The Real Madrid superstar cut a frustrated figure during Portugal’s opening fixture against Iceland as his side could only draw 1-1 with the minnows.
After the match, the three-time Ballon d’Or winner blasted Iceland’s “small mentality” and claimed they “celebrated like they had won the European Championship.”

Ok, it was simply just one of those matches from Ronaldo.
He’d prove all of his critics wrong against Austria in Portugal’s second fixture. Wouldn’t he?
Unfortunately for the former Manchester United player, things carried on exactly how they left off - frustrating. Very, very frustrating.
Ronaldo missed a host of glorious opportunities in the first-half but he finally got the ideal opportunity from 12-yards with just ten minutes remaining.
If you remember, Ronaldo’s last penalty was quite an important one. Just the winning spot-kick in the Champions League final.
So, surely Ronaldo would get the monkey off his back and stroke the ball home?
Nope. Ronaldo dragged his effort onto the post to add to his misery.
To make matters worse for Ronaldo, he then had a header (rightly) chalked off for offside just when he thought he had won the match for Portugal.
While Ronaldo was evidently incredibly frustrated with his display, Twitter was absolutely loving it.

Portugal’s Euro 2016 campaign is now in danger of a premature end. Ronaldo’s side have just two points from their opening two matches and may need a win against Hungary in their final fixture to qualify for the last-16.
Don’t write Ronaldo off just yet, he is bound to make an impact at this tournament sooner or later.
