Football News

It was pushed as the greatest Money in the Bank PPV ever held and the 2016 version of the event did not disappoint.

With two WrestleMania calibre matches on the card and the ever popular ladder match also taking place, fans settled in for a big night.

A lunatic champion?

The ladder match really did not disappoint as Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Cesaro, Dean Ambrose, Chris Jericho and Alberto Del Rio thrilled the fans in attendance.

At the end though, it was the Lunatic Fringe left on top of the ladder holding the briefcase and the new title of Mr Money in the Bank.

The night wouldn't end there for the Lunatic Fringe however as he would later trade in the briefcase for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

In the main event, we saw Seth Rollins defeat Roman Reigns to become a two time WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

But just like at Extreme Rules, the champions' celebrations was cut short when Ambrose's music hit and the new Mr Money in the Bank attacked him from behind.

With Rollins down, Ambrose cashed in and the match was as simple as him hitting Dirty Deeds to become the final member of the Shield to hold the belt.

The fans were ecstatic when Ambrose won and it now looks like we could be set for the Shield triple, threat title match that we have begged for for over a year.

A big night in Vegas

We saw some incredible matches at Money in the Bank, but the potential show stealing bout was between John Cena and AJ Styles.

The two put on a very thrilling match that whipped the WWE Universe into a frenzy with Styles coming out as the winner - after some interference from the Club.

We saw a heel turn by Natalya who attacked Becky Lynch after losing their tag team match against Charlotte and Dana Brooke and the New Day once again retained their Tag Team titles.
