Was this year's Money in the Bank cash-in too soon?

Dean Ambrose shocked the world last night when he became the first person to cash in his Money in the Bank contract to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship since the two titles were unified.

It was a foregone conclusion that if Ambrose climbed that ladder and won the briefcase then he would be cashing in on the same night, the only thing that remained unclear was as to whether or not Ambrose would be lifting the gold.

Shockingly he managed to defeat Seth Rollins in record time to lift his first WWE World Heavyweight Championship almost four years after his debut, but have WWE made a big mistake?

Ever since Seth Rollins turned on The Shield back in 2014, Dean Ambrose has been made to look like the weak link of the group, Ambrose has failed to capture World Heavyweight Championship gold when facing both Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins over the past two years and many fans believed he was not ready to lift the biggest title in the company.

He was overlooked at the first Money in the Bank match he was part of with WWE favouring Seth Rollins over Ambrose and then allowing The Architect to go on and cash in at one of the biggest WrestleMania's of all time.

Ambrose wasn't as patient and the minute he captured the briefcase it was obvious that he wasn't going to wait, the problem that presents WWE now is that they now no longer have a Mr Money in the Bank and for the first time in their history they will have two brands and no briefcase.

Ever since the Money in the Bank stipulation was added to WWE back in 2005 there has always been a strategic plan behind the cashing in of the case but it seems for the first time ever Dean Ambrose has been unleashed and allowed to begin the Age of Ambrose.

Back when Kane cashed in on the same night in 2010 there was another briefcase on the Raw brand that was being held by The Miz, this meant that WWE could still tease that cash in, now they no longer have that card to play.

As a Champion it has to be believed that the outlook for Ambrose is somewhat bleak, he hasn't been considered Championship material for the past two years and has become used to being over looked in favour of Reigns or Rollins which means if a Tripe Threat match between the three former members is about to happen then the title will probably be heading back to Seth Rollins to make him a three time Champion.
