It has been over four months since Titus O'Neil made the mistake of holding back WWE's CEO Vince McMahon during an episode of Monday Night Raw.

This playful tug was deemed unacceptable by McMahon as well as others in charge at the company and promptly resulted in a lengthy suspension for the popular wrestler.

Many members of the WWE Universe were outraged at the punishment O'Neil received, with fans pointing out that other WWE employees have made other mistakes which came with lighter consequences.

Following this however, O'Neil's punishment resulted in him gaining a huge amount of support from members of the WWE Universe.

This in turn has meant he has had even more fans on his side since he made his return, with the professional wrestling followers certainly in his corner during the Money In The Bank pay-per-view last Sunday night.

Titus O'Neil was booked to face Rusev for the latter's current United States Championship Title, with a win for the former seeming unlikely but something which the company should undoubtedly have gone with.

WWE lost a lot of fans through the way those in charge chose to deal with O'Neil's previous actions and a win for the 39-year-old here would surely have caused members of the WWE Universe to get back on the company's side.

The stage was unquestionably set fro an emphatic Titus O'Neil win. Not only was it Father's Day, with O'Neil having previously been crowd Celebrity Dad Of The Year, but his sons were also ringside watching their Dad wrestle live for a Title for the first time.

Much to the disappointment of his children and the majority of the WWE Universe however, O'Neil eventually lost to The Bulgarian Brute by falling victim to The Accolade.

WWE proved themselves to be even more heartless following Rusev's victory by having him confront O'Neil's children and informing them that their Dad was a 'loser'.

Although the company produced an interesting angle during Monday Night Raw the following night by having O'Neil beat down Rusev after disrespecting him and his family, a United States Championship Title win was unquestionably what Titus O'Neil deserved.

Vince McMahon and his staff will be well aware of the impact which Titus O'Neil, his actions earlier this year and punishment has had on fans of professional wrestling.

It is with this in mind that WWE should give both O'Neil as well as his huge fan base what is right soon by crowning him a Champion not least because it would prove that he and the company are on good terms once again.
