Liverpool fans want Joe Allen to stay

With just one year remaining on Joe Allen's current Liverpool deal, it's not exactly surprising that he has been heavily linked with a move away from the club. 

Allen's spell on Merseyside has been a topsy-turvy one, but he's remained an important member of the squad nonetheless. 

Indeed, since Jurgen Klopp arrived at the helm during the early stages of last season, Allen's importance to the cause slowly but surely increased.

The Wales international went from a scapegoat to a fans' favourite and his performances have stayed consistent during Euro 2016. 

The former Swansea City man has played a prominent role in helping his country secure a place in the knockout stages of the prestigious tournament.

In fact, he has impressed so much that Liverpool have taken to Twitter to offer an insight into exactly how he has performed during the three games.

But that doesn't necessarily mean that he will stay at Liverpool ahead of the new season. Reds chief Jurgen Klopp certainly has a decision to make as he goes about changing the dynamic of his squad. 

Ultimately, Liverpool just weren't good enough last season as they finished the season in eighth position. Additions are clearly required and players will surely leave, but the future of Allen remains very much up in the air.
