Cristiano Ronaldo scored a contender for best goal of Euro 2016 for Portugal against Hungary.

The Real Madrid superstar, who was frustrated against both Iceland and Austria, opened his account of the tournament with an exquisite backheel flick finish.

It was a wonderful goal and Ronaldo, in typical Ronaldo fashion, celebrated with his trademark ‘Sii!’ celebration. (Scroll down this page to watch the video).

Joao Mario also deserves credit for his part in the goal. The winger picked Ronaldo out with a decent cross although, in truth, the goal wouldn’t have happened without his superstar teammate’s extraordinary finish.

That goal put Portugal back on level terms; however, five minutes later and Fernando Santos’s side found themselves a goal down again.

Crazy game

In what must surely be the best game of Euro 2016 so far, Hungary took the lead in the 19th minute through Zoltan Gera.

Nani then equalised on the stroke of half-time following a precise pass from Ronaldo.

Two minutes after the half-time interval and Hungary went 2-1 up thanks to Balázs Dzsudzsák’s deflected free-kick.

And it was Dzsudzsák again who scored Hungary’s third goal, shortly after Ronaldo had equalised with his moment of magic.

Update: Ronaldo scores again

Ronaldo bags his second goal of the tournament to make it Hungary 3-3 Portugal in the 62nd minute.
