Gabor Kiraly is fast becoming one of the stars of Euro 2016.

The Hungarian goalkeeper, famous for his grey jogging bottoms, went viral during the 1-1 draw against Austria at the weekend after throwing the ball behind him between his legs.

And the 40-year-old went one better during this evening’s pulsating 3-3 draw between Hungary and Portugal: performing a Thierry Henry-esque ‘fake kick’ deep into stoppage time. (Scroll down this page to watch the video).

There was absolutely no need for Kiraly to do it, but that made it all the more brilliant.

The veteran ‘keeper, who has been capped 106 times by his country and currently plies his trade for Hungarian outfit Haladás, literally passed the ball 10 yards - if that - ahead of him to one of his defenders.

Hungary secure top spot in Group F

Considering how delicately poised the match was, we don’t imagine his manager, Bernd Storck, was particularly amused.

Fortunately for Kiraly, though, Hungary ended up securing a point which secured them top spot in Group F.

They will now face the runners-up of Group E in Toulouse on Sunday.

The Hungarian public have certainly got Euro 2016 fever, judging by the photos currently doing the rounds on social media.

Many people in the country went to work today wearing grey jogging bottoms and it’s safe to say they would have enjoyed Kiraly’s circus trick - not to mention the match itself.

Thrilling 3-3 draw

Hungary took the lead in the 19th minute when Zoltan Gera fired past Rui Patricio.

Nani equalised before the half-time interval, but the Hungarians restored their one-goal lead two minutes after the break thanks to a deflected free-kick from Balázs Dzsudzsák.

Cristiano Ronaldo equalised with a goal of the tournament contender three minutes later, before Dzsudzsák struck again soon after.

Ronaldo was absolutely livid with Hungary’s third goal but regained his composure to score again and help Portugal set up a mouth-watering last-16 clash against Croatia this Saturday.
