Jose Mourinho may well be wondering where this Eden Hazard had been hiding when he was sacked from his role as Chelsea manager.

The Special One's inability to get the best out of the diminutive Belgian was seen as a key reason as to why he lost his job only seven months after winning the Premier League title.

Chelsea fans had theorised that Hazard had purposely played badly to get Mourinho out as fast as possible and, on the evidence at Euro 2016, that could well be true.

The former Lille player returned to his old hunting ground as Belgium took on rank outsiders Hungary in the round of 16. And he treated his once adoring fans to a classic performance and simply ripped Hungary to shreds.

With the game finely balanced – Belgium had a 1-0 lead thanks to Toby Alderweireld – and heading into its final 10 minutes, it was left up to the former PFA Player of the Year to make the difference.

He started by providing an assist for Michy Batshuayi and finished by burying one of the best goals we have seen at the tournament so far.

Needless to say, the reaction on social media is one of admiration, surprise and outright hilarity. Some say Hazard is the best player at Euro 2016, some wonder why he couldn't play like this for Chelsea last season and others are simply laughing at Mourinho.

Game on!
