Well, it didn’t take England long to slip up, did it?
Just 34 seconds after taking the lead in their make-or-break clash with Iceland, the Three Lions were pegged back by the Scandinavian minnows.
Before the twentieth minute, the Three Lions’ nightmarish start worsened as they found themselves behind. Kolbeinn Sigthorsson forced a mistake from Joe Hart to put their opponent's Euro 2016 hopes in doubt.

Shock turn around
England seemed to have gotten off to the perfect start. A rash challenge from Iceland goalkeeper Hannes Halldorsson saw the minute nation concede an early penalty.
Three Lions skipper Wayne Rooney quickly took advantage by screwing his spot kick into the bottom left corner.
It appeared the perfect start that England had been crying out for. It took less than a minute, however, for the ecstasy to dissolve into shock.
A long throw caused panic in the England penalty area with the ball eventually falling for Sigurdsson. The defender swept it home from close range to bag Iceland’s fourth goal of the tournament.
Just twelve minutes later and England imploded further. Sigthorsson’s side-footed shot squirmed under the reach of Hart as Iceland turned the game on its head and took a shock lead.
And here's the goal that has shocked football supporters around the world:
For the second time this tournament, it's not a moment that Hart will look back on too fondly.
Twitter reacts
Such a jaw dropping turn around has sent Twitter into meltdown with mockery raining in on England players and fans alike.
Having looked on course to romp Iceland, they’ve rightfully been inundated with criticism for their rapid collapse:
While England still have time to salvage the game and their tournament alike, they’ve been rattled by an Icelandic double from nowhere. They may have a population inferior to Coventry, but they sure know how to put up a fight.
Wayne Rooney and co. must respond or face a shameful exit from an already tumultuous campaign for the side.
