The Premier League big boys are starting to stamp their mark on this transfer window and it appears that Chelsea could be the next club to deliver a big signing.

Indeed, reports have claimed that the west London outfit have agreed a £33 million fee with Ligue side Marseille for the signing of striker Michy Batshuayi.

Batshuayi, 22, is recognised as one of the most exciting young forwards in Europe and is currently starring with the Belgium national side at Euro 2016.

He struck an admirable 17 goals in 36 Ligue 1 appearances last season and now it appears that he will be plying his trade alongside the likes of Eden Hazard, Cesc Fabregas and co. during the 2016/17 campaign.

And, as you can imagine fans of Chelsea's London rivals, Tottenham, have duly reacted to the news.

Batshuayi saga

That's because, for so long, the White Hart Lane outfit appeared to be in the box seat to bring the forward to the Premier League in this transfer window.

In fact, Belgium international Toby Alderweireld recently admitted that he wanted his compatriot to join him at Spurs.

As per Sky Sports, he stated: "Do I hope Batshuayi comes to Tottenham? Yes of course," said Spurs defender Alderweireld. "He has a lot of qualities.

"The problem of course is that at that position Tottenham already has Harry Kane, while there is a lot of interest for Batshuayi [from other clubs]."

Ultimately, though, Batshuayi completing a move to north London now appears to be extremely unlikely indeed.

But how have Tottenham fans reacted to developments? Well, despite some of them admitting their disappointment, a number of the club's faithful have insisted that Vincent Jansen may well prove to be a better signing anyway.

Jansen, 22, is currently starring for Dutch outfit AZ and has also been linked with a move to the Premier League club. Much like Batshuayi, Jansen appears to have a great future in front of him - he scored an impressive 27 goals in 34 league appearances last term - but it will be interesting to see how the saga plays out over the course of the summer.

Anyway, here's how Spurs fans have reacted to the news that Batshuayi is set to sign for their rivals:
