There now appears to be a realistic chance that Dutchman Robin van Persie will complete a return to the Premier League during this transfer window.
Van Persie, 32, only departed England's elite division in favour of a move to Fenerbache back in 2015, but it appears that his short stint in Turkey could be about to come to an end.
The forward, who enjoyed success at both Arsenal and Manchester United, has struggled to produce the goods at Fenerbache, often struggling to maintain his place in the starting XI.

In fact, Fenerbahce president Azil Yildirim has already admitted that the club are waiting for buyers for the former Red Devil.
He stated: “Van Persie? We’re waiting for buyers, if he wants to be sold.”
RVP on the move?
But who will he join? Well, The Sun recently claimed that Van Persie has been offered to the London duo of Crystal Palace and West Ham.
A return to London wouldn't exactly come as a major surprise, but has Van Persie really got enough about him to get his career back on track?
It has been a difficult past couple of years for the forward, who appears to be rapidly on the decline.
But could there be an even more shocking twist to the saga? Would Arsenal consider bringing their former striker back to north London.
Arsenal reaction
It's far from certain as to whether Arsene Wenger and co. would be interested in securing Van Persie's services, but that didn't stop the Independent claiming that fans of the club have made calls for Wenger to sign the player.
Has this really happened? Surely fans of the club don't want the 32-year-old to once again play for them...
Well, it actually appears that a number of Arsenal fans really would take Van Persie back. That, of course, is the same Van Persie that controversially left them in favour of a move to Manchester United.
