France international Paul Pogba would prefer to complete a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid this summer.
This has been reported by The Guardian, who claim that the dynamic midfielder will return to Premier League outfit Manchester United only if a high-profile transfer to the Bernabeu becomes impossible.
Pogba, 23, is recognised as one of the leading midfielders in world football and has been valued at a mammoth £84 million by Juventus.

Indeed, the report claims that new United manager Jose Mourinho may have to get over the hurdle of the technically-gifted star preferring to join the ranks at Real Madrid.
It's also suggested that the Manchester United hierarchy will have to outbid Real Madrid and offer Pogba as much as £250,000-a-week to move to Old Trafford.
Ultimately, then, it appears that it's not going to be easy for Mourinho and co. to convince Pogba to snub Real in favour of a move to United, but it's fair to say that the club shouldn't give up just yet.
That's because there are some positives. The report suggests that the player's agent, Mino Raiola, could have a key role to play in the deal.
Raiola, of course, helped the Red Devils complete a deal to sign enigmatic striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, while it's also likely that he will lead Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan to the club imminently.
Dortmund confirmed on Saturday that they had agreed a deal with United for Mkhitaryan, but United are yet to confirm the transfer.
Unsurprisingly, then, the report claims that United hope their relationship with Raiola can help them land Pogba, while it's also documented that the agent believes his client may be better suited to United over Real Madrid.
There's clearly a long way to go in this saga, but Mourinho appears to be intent on changing the dynamic at the club sooner rather than later.
The Special One will, of course, be officially unveiled to the press later today as he begins his tenure at the Theatre of Dreams.
