With almost all of Europe's top clubs returning to pre-season training this week, it's time for some of the best players to get back into shape ready for their upcoming campaigns.

After around a month off, it appears that a number of players are struggling to readjust to their new demanding regimes, and none more so than Atletico Madrid's Bernard Mensah.

The Ghanaian midfielder was seen being escorted off the pitch in his first training session under Diego Simeone before he bends over to throw up all over the sidelines.

Clearly, manager Simeone pulls no punches in his pre-season, and Mensah will have to adjust to demanding schedules if he's going to break into the Atletico squad this year. He spent the last term on loan at Getafe, but only made eight appearances for the club.

Madrid will be hoping to get their squad up to full fitness before the end of July, as they enter the International Champions Cup tournament.

They travel to Australia to face Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur, who finished third in the league last season, before then facing local side Melbourne Victory, ahead of their return to Spain.

A number of Atletico's star players are yet to return to training after competing in Euro 2016.

Forward Antoine Griezmann was the star of the show for hosts France on Thursday night, scoring twice, as they progressed to the final of their own tournament. They will now face Portugal on Sunday evening.

Griezmann will be hoping to guide his country to international success, before returning to pre-season, hopefully in much better shape than teammate Mensah.
