Football News

On Wednesday night, it was revealed that Jon Jones had been pulled from the main event of UFC 200 after failing a drugs test that he had undergone last month.

Jones was removed from the fight against Daniel Cormier and replaced by Anderson Silva, with the bout now becoming a three-round, non-title affair that has been moved out of the main event slot, which is now taken by Miesha Tate vs Amanda Nunes.

Jones gave a press conference where he expressed severe regret and now video footage has come out of Cormier looking similarly distressed after he was told the fight was off.

Cormier is backstage as he hears the news, sitting down with UFC President Dana White who tells him that Jones tested positive and that the fight is not happening. You can check out the video, uploaded by the UFC's official channel, here.

"Jones tested positive." Just those three little words delivered by Dana were enough to absolutely crush Cormier, who looked both furious and heartbroken in equal measure.

You can tell how much Cormier wanted the fight, as he asked White if there was any way that he could sign a release form saying that he knew Jones had tested positive but would still fight him anyway.

White shot that idea down immediately.

The 37-year-old was devastated as the realization that his months of sacrifice and hard work in the gym were all for naught. Sure, he's still fighting, but it isn't in the main event against the man he had been training for months to face.

Poor DC.
