Tyson Fury offers to buy drinks for fans who bought Wladimir Klitschko tickets

Tyson Fury divides opinion but there’s no denying the heavyweight champion has a generous side.

Last month he spent €1000 on jagerbombs for 200 England fans - and now he’s promised to fork out a cool £10,000 on drinks for his fans who have paid to watch his second bout against Wladimir Klitschko.

Fury once again apologised to his fans who bought tickets for the fight, which was due to take place in Manchester this evening but has been rescheduled after the 27-year-old suffered a pre-fight injury.

On June 25, Fury posted a video on social media announcing that an ankle injury would force the postponement of his rematch against Klitschko.

Then, earlier this week, Fury confirmed the new date as October 29.

"16 weeks Saturday till I blast Klitschko spark out, #&still!!!!” the Manchester-born boxer tweeted. “Can't wait #manchesteroctober29 #letshaveit"

Fury: Free drinks for fans

As a way of saying sorry for the inconvenience caused by rescheduling, Fury has offered fans free drinks after the fight.

“Today is the day I should be fighting @Klitschko, but I'll have to wait a little longer, massive SORRY to all who bought tickets, nextime.❤️🌹“ he tweeted.

“Next time I'm out after the fight with @Klitschko I'll let every1 know where, & I'm spending 10k on drinks for the fans,to show my ❤️❤️❤️“

Fair play to Fury.

That’s one way to bag himself a few extra votes for 2016’s Sports Personality of the Year award (presuming he’s invited this time).
