Barcelona boss Luis Enrique isn’t messing about this summer; he’s already completed deals for three players and is now reportedly on the verge of securing a fourth.

According to reports in the Spanish media, namely the Catalan newspaper Sport, Barca have ‘reached an agreement’ with Atletico Madrid forward Luciano Vietto.

However, at this moment in time, no agreement has been reached between the two La Liga clubs.

While a loan move is possible, it’s understood that a permanent transfer is also possible.

An agreement could be made, according to the report, within the coming days.

Sport add that negotiations will continue and that the chances of a deal being completed are enhanced by the fact the relationship between the two clubs is good.

Barcelona successfully signed Arda Turan, one of Atleti’s key players, last summer and appear to believe they stand a realistic chance of nabbing Vietto.

Vietto isn't a regular starter at Atleti

The Argentine made 28 appearances for Atletico last season, scoring three goals, but struggled to nail down a regular starting spot in Diego Simeone’s first-choice line-up.

There’s little doubt that he would spend significant time on the substitutes’ bench if he opted to move to the Camp Nou; however, the opportunity to play alongside his compatriot Lionel Messi may prove too irresistible to turn down.

It’s understood that Vietto is an admirer of Messi, who announced his retirement from international football earlier this summer.

Barcelona have been busy this summer

If a deal is agreed, Vietto would become Barcelona’s fourth summer signing following the arrivals of Denis Suarez, Samuel Umtiti and Lucas Digne.
