Pokemon Go is well and truly taking over - and that's no exaggeration.

Everywhere you look, children, teenagers and adults are walking along the street glued to their phones hoping to catch rare Pokemon using their cameras.

Such is the obsession over the latest addition to Nintendo's popular franchise, which is currently making the company €1.6 million per day, that it's caused car crashes - no, seriously.

Top marks for creativity.

Inevitably, social media has responded to Whitecaps' unique marketing approach and it's produced a rather mixed reaction.

Now, onto Whitecaps' two signings.

Canadian full-back Marcel de Jong, who can also play in midfield, completed his move from Ottawa Fury on Monday and believes it was the right move.

He said: “I’ve got some good memories here and I always love coming here.

"To be honest, I told my family ‘I’m not sure about MLS, but if I do (come back), I only want to come to Vancouver'. So it worked out.

“I think this is where I’m supposed to be right now.”

Countryman David Edgar joins him at the Canadian club having previously played for Newcastle United, Swansea City and Birmingham City.
