Stockport boss Jim Gannon expressed his satisfaction with his team's season so far after the 1-1 home draw against Northampton.

Leon McSweeney bagged a 75th-minute equaliser to cancel out Karl Hawley's opener for the Cobblers.

"I think we've got a fair collection of points and we're in a respectable position in the table," he said.

"Whether we're going to be classed as serious contenders this season I don't know, but I'm delighted with the start we've had.

"If we keep working hard we'll continue to improve."

The point leaves the newly-promoted outfit 10th in League One with nine points from their opening six games.
