One of the most interesting changes, aside from the squad numbers assigned to the club’s new signings, is the decision to take the number 11 - made famous, of course, by Ryan Giggs - off Adnan Januzaj.

The Belgian is now No. 15, with Martial taking No. 11 and Zlatan becoming the club’s new No. 9.

Man Utd's 2016-17 squad numbers

Wayne Rooney remain’s the club’s No. 10, Juan Mata continues with the No. 8 shirt and the club’s most iconic number, 7, remains in the hands of Memphis Depay.

The Dutch winger failed to impress in his debut season with the Premier League giants but Jose Mourinho may feel he can help the former PSV star rediscover his form and confidence.

Bailly takes the No. 3 shirt, meanwhile, and Mkhitaryan will wear No. 22.

Marcus Rashford has been handed No. 19, Luke Shaw No. 23 and Timothy Fosu-Mensah No. 24.

Which number will Paul Pogba get?

But which number will Paul Pogba be handed if - or perhaps that should be, when - he joins the club from Juventus?
