WWE Battleground: Previews and Predictions

WWE Battleground emanates live from Washington DC on Sunday night and it boasts the most anticipated match of the current era as Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns finally collide in a triple threat match for the WWE Championship.

The Viper also makes his return to WWE ahead of his high profile match against Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam whilst the likes of The Wyatt Family and The Club will participate in their final matches as trios. Here are are our predictions ahead of the event:

This is set to be one of the matches of the night, four of the mic talkers in WWE are about to face off against each other, and we all know there will be a 10 minute promo beforehand. Enzo and Cass have been on a roll as of late and partnering John Cena was a big shock since there was no history between them before.

That being said this will be the final time that The Club partner up, and they will be wanting to go out with a bang.

I would like to see AJ Styles start his SmackDown career in style but it is hard to see past Enzo and Cass' team here. AJ vs Cena will obviously continue on SmackDown afterwards.

RAZA: I'd love to see The Club beat up John Cena again to show that the whole outlook of the WWE is changing with Cena no longer the top star. However this decision would make Enzo and Big Cass look bad. I feel that they deserve a huge win under their belt, and a pin fall over any member of The Club is excellent at this point. I expect Cena's team to win, with Big Cass setting himself up with a bright future by getting the decisive pin.

This is definitely an odd one for me, Natalya and Becky were seemingly working well together until Natalya decided to turn on her friend at Money in the Bank last month. Since then the two women have had it out for each other and even brawled during the WWE Draft episode of SmackDown on Tuesday night.

Both women have been drafted to SmackDown following Battleground so it would be easy for this feud to continue, so I fully expect Becky Lynch to pick up the win.

RAZA: I'm hoping this is a great single's match, as it allows SmackDown's newest acquisitions to set the bar. I'm a huge fan of Becky Lynch and hope she can reach the top one day, but with both women on SmackDown, it makes sense to have Natalya draw first blood. Nattie wins this encounter.

This has become a very personal feud over the past few weeks, I expected Xavier Woods to leave The New Day after it seemed that Bray Wyatt had finally got into his head, but instead, it will be The Wyatt Family that head to the ring together for the last time on Sunday night. This match isn't for the tag team titles, it is purely for bragging rights, and I think The New Day should take them.

Raza: Now it makes sense why the titles aren't on the line, The Wyatt Family have been split up and Braun Strowman can run rampant on Raw while Bray Wyatt establishes himself as a top heel on SmackDown. Considering the gold isn't up for grabs, I see The Wyatt Family winning this, they have to if they're to go down as a success.

When did Zack Ryder step up? Finally he is being given the push he deserves, after what was a laughable turn around following his win at WrestleMania 32, Zack deserves this Championship. WWE could easily play this out in a fantastic way. If Zack wins here he could take the US title to SmackDown, which was it's rightful place for many years before Darren Young then takes the IC title back to Raw. It would be a good turn around for WWE and I'm hopeful that Zack can knock Rusev off his pedestal here.

Raza:  The same applies here, the title could switch shows if a new champion is crowned. Rusev needs this championship right now and can be a real monster on Raw with it, while the call-up of Mojo Rawley could reform The Hype Bros alongside Ryder. Fans want Ryder to win, but I see Rusev retaining.

There is no real need for this tag team match, this is obviously a filler so that WWE can then give the WWE Universe the match that they want between Sasha and Charlotte at SummerSlam. The big news is that whoever her partner is will either be returnee or a debutante. That being said I fully expect Sasha's team to come out on top.

Raza: The WWE have done a good job keeping Sasha Banks' partner a mystery, despite many believing it'll be Bayley. There aren't many surprises the WWE can really go with, unless we see an underwhelming return of somebody like Naomi before she heads off to SmackDown, while Paige is also underwhelming. I'll be surprised if it's Nia Jax, but I believe Sasha Banks will win, further staking her claim at the Women's Championship.

The Miz has hardly defended his Championship since he defeated Zack Ryder for it the night after WrestleMania 32, he's been away from WWE filming The Marine 5: BattleGround along with many other WWE superstars, but there is no excuse for not defending the title if WWE makes you a champion. Miz hasn't been a great Champion to watch and Darren Young is attempting to be great again so the IC title would help him to achieve this.

RAZA: The draft has made it a little confusing as the champions and their challengers are on opposite brands. In an ideal world, we see new champions and the titles could switch shows, but I think the WWE are going to keep this a simple event with nothing huge planned heading into SummerSlam. I'm not a huge fan of Darren Young or this gimmick, but I also feel we need a new Intercontinental Champion. I'd have to say, The Miz retains.

Fans have requested that this duo 'fight forever' and given their extensive history on the Independent Circuit and their five star match performances so far, it is easy to understand why. Given that both men have been sent to the same roster, fans could very well get what they are asking for here. Sami Zayn deserves the upper hand here after all Owens has done to him over the past few months.

RAZA: This is the match I'm looking forward to most and it's interesting that they've both been drafted to the same brand. The fans want them to fight forever and by no means does this mean Battleground is their final match. I do think Sami is better suited to SmackDown and I won't be surprised to see him there somehow relatively soon, even if it's a loser leaves Raw match. Saying that, I think Sami takes this one to leave everything wide open.

Who will leave Washington with the Championship? Will Seth Rollins become a three time Champion or Roman Reigns become a four time? I think WWE will have another draw here, once again Ambrose and Rollins will pin each other. Roman isn't really even in the decision anymore since he is out of the title picture after this match. The title needs to be split once again and Rollins can then take the title to Raw and Ambrose can take his to Smackdown. This will allow both brands to have a Champion and ensure Rollins isn't forced to work every show again and risk injury. The same for Ambrose, there can't be a clear winner here.

Raza: This is an intriguing main event, considering we may only have one World Champion in the WWE and the numbers game suggests Raw has a better chance of walking away with the title. However, I think SmackDown needs it more if it's to compete with Raw, and there's no harm done in having a top face hold the title for a little while longer. Ambrose and Rollins have done a great job of selling this three-man feud, so I expect Ambrose to retain in his first real test.
