The world's of fashion and the NBA are more closely linked than some people may realise.

Whether it's Russell Westbrook's eccentric attire making headlines or simply the latest Air Jordan's, the NBA is a league where the players care how they look.

They also care about marketing opportunities outside of the game and it seems that Houston Rockets star James Harden could be collaborating with hip-hop icon Kanye West on a pair of sneakers very soon.

When a sports star and a music star come together to create some fashion, it's bound to be interesting.

Harden says that although it's basically confirmed he will collaborate with West on a brand new shoe, he hasn't had any formal discussions with the 21-time Grammy Award-winning artist yet.

"Yeah (we’re going to do a shoe). Me and ‘Ye haven’t had any conversations yet. I think it could possibly happen in the near future, especially with how well everything’s going and how well he’s doing with the Yeezys," Harden told Complex.

"I think everyone’s excited about the wave that’s coming: Off the court, fashion, and on the court. Dame (Damian Lillard), Kyle Lowry, Wigg (Andrew Wiggins), everyone’s excited about everything that’s going on."

The Yeezy phenomenon has really taken off and there is little surprise that some of the NBA's finest wish to piggyback that success with Adidas.

The scope for success with this brand seems to be huge right now and it'll be interesting to see what new heights an NBA offering can bring to the table.
