It was a big deal when Alberto Del Rio surprised everyone to return to the WWE at Hell in a Cell in October 2015.

After some time away from the company, where he became a big name in wrestling again while competing for CMLL, Ring of Honor and Lucha Underground, Del Rio was brought into the WWE again and beat John Cena on his first night back to become the United States Champion.

Everyone was amazed. Alberto Del Rio was back and a big star again. Well, fast forward less than a year and things have turned sour, with new reports now suggesting that Del Rio could be leaving the WWE.

According to a report from Daily Wrestling News, there is speculation going around that Del Rio has become unhappy with his place in the WWE and is on his way out later this year.

"Del Rio has had some minor heat from at least some WWE officials but Vince McMahon wanted to push him going into the WWE Draft," Eric Arrington from the site wrote.

Contract Expiring

"However, Triple H wanted to back off from a Del Rio push and that’s what ended up happening, likely because his contract is expiring in October."

Del Rio is also reportedly unhappy because of how low he went in the recent Draft, being selected in the sixth round with one of the final picks on the SmackDown Live show, below Natalya.

The fact that he was drafted to SmackDown and his then-girlfriend Paige was drafted to Monday Night Raw also didn't help the Mexican's mood. It seems like the two have since broken up and are no longer a couple.

So, a year or so after being one of the hottest names in indy wrestling, it looks like Alberto Del Rio could be available for bookings again in the not too distant future.
