So all-consuming is the Paul Pogba transfer saga that it isn't even a new update every day, it is a new update every few hours.

Tonight's latest development, however, courtesy of The Sun could very well be the near perfect one for Manchester United fans.

Less than half a day after reports from ESPN claimed that Real Madrid had made contact with Juventus, The Sun are now claiming that a source within the Turin club has revealed a deal to send Pogba back to Man United has been "done".

Per their report, a source at Juventus explained to them that, "A deal with United is done". Those six words will be music to United fans' ears as they continue to eagerly await the return of a player who left them four years ago.

Getting Pogba back to Old Trafford isn't going to come cheap, though, as has been routinely mentioned.

Again according to The Sun, the eventual fee involved will come to £112 million when all is said and done.

£92 million of that will go directly to the Old Lady, whilst a whopping £20 million will go directly from United to Pogba's much-talked about agent Mino Raiola. Juve will also pay him another £4 million for his troubles.

If the claim proves to be correct and a deal has indeed been agreed upon, then things could move pretty quickly after so many twists and turns.

With Pogba still in the United States holidaying after his exploits with France at Euro 2016, you would think that United would look to send the necessary staff stateside to nail down personal terms with the midfielder.

There have already been reports that the player's representatives have OK'd wages of £220,000-per-week, making him the best-paid player at United.

The player himself seems to be enjoying the speculation, having caused yet more debate with a black and white Instagram post in which the only colours on show were Pogba's red cap and shoes.

Almost inevitably it had fans on social media convinced that he was pointing to a future in United's famous red.

What fans in Manchester will really be waiting for, though, is official confirmation that Pogba has signed with their club.

Tonight's update could very well be laying the foundations for that very moment.
