The 21st-century world can be an unforgiving place. Social media has changed the landscape of sport as we know it and now everyone is a critic. It takes a matter of seconds for a player or team's worst moment to appear on the internet and be shared by millions.

Sometimes the internet can be unsavoury, but there are rare occasions when people come together and it makes for some hilarious reading. NBA fans on the social platform Reddit have been doing just that on a daily basis to roast different franchises. Across 30 days, no organisation will be spared.

After nine days, the Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks, Charlotte Hornets, Portland Trail Blazers, Chicago Bulls, Denver Nuggets, New Orleans Pelicans and Memphis Grizzlies have been the victims, but our personal favourite was the L.A. Lakers.

A franchise steeped in history and tradition, but one that has fallen on tough times recently is a brilliant combination for a top-class roast, and that is exactly what users provided us with. Here are some of the best posts. See it for yourself here.

It's a word that has been bounded around the NBA more times than any of us would care to imagine, but the Lakers are certainly looking towards the future with their current roster. After a number of trade busts, the Purple and Gold have used recent drafts to stock their roster with exciting talent.

D'Angelo Russell is certainly one to watch. After a tough rookie season, he produced some incredible basketball at the Las Vegas Summer League and looks primed to have a strong season.

Having missed almost his whole rookie year, Julius Randle is heading into his third season off the back of some fine displays in 2015/16. Brandon Ingram has a lot of upside while Jordan Clarkson also just completed his sophomore year. Include the addition of Luol Deng and the future is looking pretty bright for the California franchise.
