Roman Reigns has been pushed hard for a while now by the WWE despite the poor reception he has received by a selection of fans. This push has even continued following his 30-day suspension for his first violation of WWE's Wellness Program.
You wouldn't be wrong to thinking the push as a babyface would be dropped following the bad reaction by the crowd, and that it would definitely be dropped following the Wellness Program violation. However, former ECW announcer Joey Styles has said it has continued for a good reason.
He said during a Facebook Q&A with Cathy Kelly according to NoDQ: “Bottom line is, if our chairman thinks he sees a future star as a babyface, that’s how things are gonna play out … But the answer is Vince thinks it can work. He’s been right much, much, much, much, much more than wrong over the course of the last 40 years. I’m sorry, but I’m not gonna second-guess the chairman.”

When Kelly said as well that kids and their moms love Reigns as well, Styles added: "That’s part of it: Moms are the ones who bring kids to shows. Kids like Roman Reigns. Moms like Roman Reigns. That’s the reason. Just because some people boo him doesn’t mean everyone doesn’t like him."
Although some pushes have been reluctant due to fan demand, WWE has had great success when pushing talent such as CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, and of course, Stone Cold Steve Austin. These pushes were allowed thanks to Mr. McMahon, so you can't fault a man that has had 40 years of success in the sports entertainment and wrestling business.
However, Vince may finally be listening to the fans that don't like The Big Dog, as the superstar was pinned this week in the main event of Monday Night Raw by Finn Balor. This outcome could be the setup to finally turn Reigns heel at SummerSlam, which is what a lot of fans want to see happen.
