Usain Bolt sends Zlatan Ibrahimovic a message

It seems as though Usain Bolt, just like every other Manchester United fan, is very excited about this season.

Earlier this week, the Jamaican athlete recorded a video for Jose Mourinho telling him: “I’ll be watching you this season and I expect nothing but greatness from you as I will bring greatness.

“So I’m looking forward to it. We need a championship.”

And now, Bolt has turned his attentions to new signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic - and he has a warning for the Swedish striker.

“Hey Zlatan, it’s Usain Bolt,” he said - not that he really needed to explain who he was.

“I just want to say, welcome to the greatest team you’ve ever been in, Manchester United.

“I’ll be looking forward to goals, I’ll be watching you,” before chuckling.

But, if Ibrahimovic doesn’t produce the goods at Old Trafford there’s no doubt that Bolt will be offering his services. The United fan has regularly jokingly dropped hints to the club suggesting he has the skills to make it in the Premier League.

And he’s done that once again after Mourinho’s appointment.

"I haven't gotten a call yet but I know it's coming,” Bolt recently said.

“I think he's waiting until after the Olympics."

Last year, Bolt could well have contributed to the Red Devils under Louis van Gaal as his sheer pace would have come as a welcome addition. Back then he appealed to the Dutchman to give him a chance at the Theatre of Dreams.

Bolt wants a trial

“In my mind, I think I should do a trial and see if they would say 'Alright, come on in' or if they would say 'No, you are not any good’,” the Jamaican told MUTV

“I think I would be pretty good because I am fit, I am quick, I can control the ball and I understand all of the play.

“So I think if I do a trial then they would say, 'You know what, here is a contract for five years! You are 30 years old, here's a five-year contract. Let's just do it!’”

However, after Mourinho has brought in Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Ibrahimovic - and are on the verge of a sensational deal with Paul Pogba - it’s highly unlikely that Mourinho will be needing to pick up the phone to ask Bolt for a bit of help.

But Zlatan better watch out, because Bolt will be watching him closely this season.
